Blog NUMBER Eight

Sookie Stackhouse's limiting beliefs.

Sookie Stackhouse, from the memorable over 10 book Sookie Stackhouse or Southern Vampire series, has many limiting beliefs and things that hold her back.

One: her telepathy. Her telepathy prevents her from having a normal relationship with non-supernaturals, because you can't have a good conversation with someone when you know exactly what they are about to say, before they even know they are about to say it. She knows personal information that she should not know, all because she can always hear people's thoughts.

Two: her ex-boyfriend Bill. Bill prevents her from having a real relationship with Eric, because her Vampire Bill lives nearby, and he creeperly 'protects' her, by watching her house at a distance through a graveyard.

Three: her ordinary world. She lives in a small town, in which vampires are usually frowned upon, and when both of her boyfriends have been vampires, she is not looked highly on. She is fairly middle class, has the remnants of her inheritance, has to keep fixing up her house, she works as a waitress, or now a vampire helper (reads human minds to solve mysteries, ex. who was embezzling from Eric, who set the bombs in the hotel, who was murdering women for being with vampires, and many more)

Four: her fears. She is afraid to die, be seriously injured, and afraid that if she does fall in love with Eric, she could never have children with him. She could marry him, become a vampire and spend eternity with him, but she would never be a mother, something that she really, really wants.
